ThinkTanker is was made as part of an installation in the Willem3, an artist residency in the Buro Beeldende Kunst Vlissingen. For two months I lived and worked on location in Vlissingen, a few meters away from the Westerschelde, where 150 tankers and freight ships pass by every day.

The fuel in this case is not literally, but implicitly in transit. And perhaps the real fuel is our ability to see and think clearly. Through the hull of a glass-bottomed boat, it's possible to see not only the depths under water, but maybe also the depths within ourselves.
