XD GRIP 27.00 R49, the name of a Michelin truck tire, is title of the publication made during a residency at the Frans Masereel Centrum in January 2022. The truck tire, 305 cm high, is found on a dump truck used in a limestone quarry in Belgium, and was printed at the Center on an Océ Plotter at 1:1 scale, in 20 sections. These sections were then reduced to A3 size and printed on the Riso machine. Assembled following the logic of the wheel, the truck tire rolls around and around, however in its printed form, its function is no longer to continue moving forward, but is fragmented and without direction.
